Too Many Servers

[Mooga]

So my college was having a FPS Turny tonight and of course I was giving the job of managing the servers.

I was controlling 2 games at once and trouble shooting all the odd issues that randomly happened. So I spent several hours before hand learning the ins and outs of running a UT2004 dedicated server. While I got it down for the most past, I still had a bunch of random problems with setting some settings and having to re-start in order to fix it. And then 10 min before the even starts I was asked: "Hey Mooga, any way you can set up another 8 player server and set the computer?" (Yes, they really call me Mooga). So I threw together a HL2DM server and had a handful of server.cfg issues. The main one being that I had time limit set twice by accident. The other problem being that there was no ChatTime set when the round ended.

The last server I set up for one round was a Ricochet. This was funny as all hell because you had 16 people who have never touched the game before trying to figure it out. It was also funny because we single-handedly quadrupled the number of people playing Ricochet

EDIT: Also, Golden Eye on a HUGE plasma TV is totally kick-ass

Fun, yeah big screen pwns for playing games. I use a 42inch viewsonic monitor for playing css and other games on
Along wtih two 19inch LG monitors on each side it's pretty fun

[Spartanfrog]

42 inch?!?!?!?!? Holy crap!

[ClanWoof]

Well, here is a picture Spartan. http://clanwoof.com/sirjake/pictures/myroom.JPG
Some might say overkill, I use the laptop when I go out and when I am at home it monitors my server so I can just pop in it if something needs to get fixed. Same as the monitor on the left I use for random things.
And the other monitor in the right I have hooked up to my new server that I am working on. That was a older picture when I had ubuntu 7.10 desktop playing with it, trying to learn more about linux.

Holy crap lol

Lol you can't play CSS on that, I had a friend at a huge annual LAN party here in Holland, he had a 24" monitor, when he was playing CSS he looked on the right side of the screen while at the same time an enemy came from the left side on screen, he didn't see it cause he was looking to the right and the screen was too big to see all, he lost the competition cause of that

Wow that must be the most long sentence without good punctuation ever written by me.

[Spartanfrog]

Eh who cares if you suck...its 42 inches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. I always talk with bad punctuation...dont feel bad

[ClanWoof]

I can play pretty well, use it when playing on my cal matches. the only thing that gets me is trying to read something on my 2nd monitor.
