Really Really Confused.

Ok, i have been trying to figure how much bandwidth certain servers require and I am confused. I know that its: sv_maxrate * {player number} * 8 / 1,000, but how does tickrate play into that. Also if i am renting a server from a company, if it says 2000gb monthly limit, that meens that, that is the amount of bandwidth i am allowed? Thank you all in advance because you guys are helping so much.

well here's how I calculate:

2000GB upload transfer per month
66,67 GB per day
2,7GB per hour
46MB per minute
771KB/s

which is 771kbyte * 8 = 6.2Mbit/s

given that 1 100 tick slot uses around 20KB/s or 160kbps on a full 16 slot server
771/20 = 39 slots
6.2mbps/160kbps = 39 slots

so you can have 39 100 tickrate slots connected at the same time 24/7 to reach 2TB per month (2000GB)

33 tick slot uses average of 5KB/s (40kbps)
66 average 12KB/s (96kbps)
100 average 18KB/s (144kbps)

However your servers will be empty at least 33% of the time (night time/morning) you can go a lot higher.

Ok thanks Drocona you cleared it up for me. Also, does different tickrate take up more CPU and Ram? And sorry one more question, is there like a calculation for how many slots you can run depending on your hardware? Like how much RAM does one full slot of SRCDS take? How much CPU? Thanks in advance.

higher tickrate will take more ram and cpu. as far as an actual calculation to find out how much a server can handle there really can't be anything like that. Every server will react differently. No to servers can hold the same thing. And every game server will use a different amount of resources depending on game being played, number of people in the server, map being played, and whats actually going on in the game server.

RAM is one of the least problems you'll ever get (mostly 1gig is more than sufficient for 5 servers), CPU and bandwidth are.
Since it's a dedicated server connected on 100mbit the bandwidth isn't a problem either.

So that leaves the CPU, 33 tickrate is the "base", 66 tickrate uses about 2.5x more CPU than 33, 100 tickrate takes around 4x more than 33 tick.

I always calculate estimates of player slots based on 100 tickrate.
For example my P4 3.0GHz (1MB cache) can hold around 60 playerslots at 100 tickrate.
My P4 2.8GHz (512kb cache) can hold around 45 playerslots at 100 tickrate.
My C2D E6600 (4MB cache) can hold around 100 playerslots at 100 tickrate.

Ok thanks Drocona. One thing, you said 1 gig is sufficient for 5 servers but how many slots in those servers?

Well what % you talking about?

amount of players, if it's full, CPU usage, bandwidth usage

Normally you can say during night time (2am to 7am) it's empty
