Really Really Confused.

Well im not wondering how many slots it can hold, im just curious the percentage of how many slots are going to be in use at a time.

Im not sure if i understand what you are saying. I know how much one server, im looking at renting, can hold 29 100 Tickrate slots 24/7. I am trying to figure out how many i could run safely without lag. I know 33% of the time slots are totally empty. So if i know an estimate on how much a slot will be full, 3/4, 1/2, or 1/4 i think i can come up with an amount of slots i can run. Sorry if im not being clear, I'm not much of a writer, but thanks for trying to help me.

If you rent it lag won't be a problem at all, just keep in mind the monthly traffic limit.
Estimates are always a bit hard to give but it's really not as much as you expect it to be

I think i phrased it wrong. I meant lag like the CPU cant handle it. Im trying to figure out how many slots at 100 tic i could have running at once. Not neccesarily all being used 24/7 though.

We don't know what CPU you have so I can't tell you when it will lag!

Im really sorry for confusing you and i think im confusing myself. I just want to know an estimate for how many slots would be in use at a give time. Ignore everything i said before because that just confuses it. Ex:
33% of the time, Empty 20 of the time, 1/4 full 15% of the time, 1/2 full 15% of the time, 3/4 full 17% of the time, Full Of course that is just an estimate. So anything before this post ignore. So i am not looking for how many slots a server can hold. Im just looking for a good estimate of how many slots would be in use, at a givem time. Thanks for helping Drocona I know this is probably driving you crazy. realchamp Wrote:Hazz Wrote:Has someone helped you on these forums? If so, help someone else Mooga Wrote:OrangeBox is a WHORE.

Hello again, I just want to run past you guys, a Core 2 Duo 1.8 ghz processor 4mb cache. 70 slots or 60 slots? Then would it be safe to say i could run about 150-200 slots because they are not 24/7? Im an extreme noob when it comes to this so thank you.

We calculate the amount of slots on basis of the CPU power, so the maximum amount of players being able to connect at 1 time. For that CPU I think it will be 60-70 like you said.
It has nothing to do with bandwidth usage or availability through the month, just CPU maxing out it's cycles

Thanks, I really can't believe i guessed right lol. Then if CPU power determines slots, what does bandwidth do? I probably asked this question before but i forget constantly. Thanks Drocona.
