TF2 respawn times
#1
I'm all a bit confused by TF2's respawning times, mainly because I have never ran anything other than instant respawn till now!

Basically I want to have both teams respawning after 5 seconds, without TF2 changing the spawning time to help the loosing team.

Can this been done with standard SRCDS cvars? Or will I need a plugin?

Plugin recommendations would be good if this is the case.

As far as I know, only Beetles Mod can set respawn to a set time. (Source Mod might have a plugin). The issue with BM, is that it will show something like "15 seconds till respawn" but you'll respawn at the set time Smile
It also lets you do things like give red or blue different times and you can add or subtract time for the team which lost or won.

Is it not possible with standard SRCDS cvars then?

I have these two atm:

Code:
// Respawn timing

mp_disable_respawn_times 0
mp_respawnwavetime 5

However, with those TF2 just changes the timing depending on the winning/loosing teams. Is there any other cvars to control respawning?

mp_respawnwavetime is NOT set to seconds. It's a funny system where higher the number, longer the average wait time, lower number, shorter wait time. However it's not set for seconds.

The respawntimes are variable during the game, hence the problem that you can't set the seconds yourself.

Right. You can adjust is slightly, but you can't set it to seconds without a mod.

Ah ok, thanks guys.

Found a couple of plugins on Sourcemod which look good, I'll give one of them a try.
