Right, I got the lag again this morning.
I'm going to try setting my servers to run at normal priority. I've heard that can help sometimes with this problem.

What servers are set to what priority Hazz?

Well they are all set to run at high.
They're in my signature, apart from the 64 man which is now a 24 slot 66 tick server.

Right, I think I've found the cause for this.
I set the priority to above normal, however I still got the lag spikes but they were very short and not as severe. So, I'm guessing setting it to normal will fix it completely, I will be trying it later.

I hope it does, cause up till now I too have been clueless and no idea what to tell you :O

my beasty technical skills are the winner aye Hazz?
Right well the lag spikes are still happening however, on core 1 when the lag spikes happen you can see a huge spike on the graph....
The core this is happening on is our Zombiemod 40 slot 33 tick server. Not sure if its the server or windows tho...

Right, I think I have found the remaining cause.
Basically, when our zombie server changes map, you can see a huge spike on the task manager graph and this is when the tick drops and the servers lag. How to fix?

This is a pretty good guide - some things help, some don't:
http://cpnclan.home.comcast.net/~cpnclan/guide.html What model hard drive? Are you using RAID? If so, what level?

YES, YES, YES.
Found the problem, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, I'm so happy right now. Zombie server with 40 ppl + mani stats calculating at map change = lag train So I'm going to order HLstatsX to keep the ranking system away from the main server. |
