playing tf2 through a proxy
#1
Well when i checked some proxies, they seem faster for connection both ways. Is it possible to connect to a tf2 server through a proxy? transparent one.

Proxies are never faster, since they add a new hop and extra processing time.
If you took a HTTP proxy from on of those anonymizer lists it's not gonna run anything else other than HTTP and sometimes FTP. For gaming you need a professional proxy.

Not really. there were many instances where i needed one. When the earthquake damaged the underwater wires, i had to rely on a proxy which was close to browse the web. When both me and my friend ping each other, we get timeouts (2000), but when we ping a proxy in between, we get 18ms and 150 ms.

They dont use the same lines that everyone else uses.

And when i used a proxy to load a website, it loads a lot faster. And i meant more like a transparent server which only helps the connection or reroutes it so that its faster.
