I'm running Windows Server 2008 and I am still only getting 500 FPS max. How do I enable HPET and get it up to 1000?

If you really need 1000FPS (and you probably don't), go with a *nix Distro.

I don't get what all this fuss about 1000FPS is...
I'll just say it again:
On all servers I have ever tested, any amount higher than ~700 FPS will DECREASE server stability and performance! 1000FPS being the worst.
The difference between servers FPS 512-700 is negligible, just stick with the max of windows anyway.

I currently Run a few 1000 FPS Server on my linux box. The server is a beast. I was never able to run 1000 FPS in windows but heard it was possible. The only problem with 1000 FPS in linux is you probably Will have to compile a new Kernel. I made a custom one anyway because it makes it very easy to increase stability and performance.
