Hey guys,
I'm currently in the process of changing ISP's due to bad service and slow connection.
I have no idea how my internet availability will end up, I might be gone for a few weeks or I might be here all the time, just to give you heads up and don't panic.
It might take 6 weeks from what I've heard in some cases... which is very long. Ah well let's hope I don't loose access at all.

Well first day after the current ISP downgrade is successful, however this kills my patience... I went from 3mbit/s down, 512kbit/s up to=> 1.5mbit/s down. 256kbit/s up.
IT'S SLOOOOWWW!!! Never thought it would matter THAT much at loading pages etc!
Well anyway, I'm still online and that's the most important part for now

We had some problems with the current ISP, they told us we had a contract till june 2009, but that was wrong... but they kept telling us it was till 2009.
So we had to change our current subscription to a subscription with a monthly contract so we can stop the current ISP
When we get the new internet connection at our home this slow one will end and it should be done. I have however not had any response from the new ISP yet, hope they contact and hook me up soon

Well it's been about a month, we finally got all the contracts solved for the new connection, got the installation package today. Tomorrow and next week i'll be installing cables in teh walls of my house and get the new connection hooked up to my server.
No downtime so far and I think i won't go down either looking good.
Now only problem I have is an UTP cable with pre-set connectors that have to go through a 1cm diameter tube in the floor.... Guess I'll start cutting and reinstall the connectors after the cut UTP is installed.
Gotta love them extra jobs you run into doing simple things. (I always wonder how do people that don't know stuff about networking do these kind of things?! It's supposed to be plug and play!)

Well finally, my modem works, the cables still need to be put in the walls but I'm on 20mbit now!
Just downloaded 5 gigs in like 1 hour
Now I'll start setting up my server for some fun!

no only 20 down, 2 up, but it's still good.
Cause I can run customer servers from my house now before I install them at the customers computer!
So they can see exactly how it will be, and customers like that!

I have this installation service, if people can't or don't have time to install the servers themselves, they can rent me.
Then I set up a server at my house with all the configs and stuff, then let the customer join to see if he/she likes it. Then I edit what needs to be edited till everything is as the customer wishes. When that's done I transfer it to the customers server pc and it runs as it should.
I do this so i don't have to do all the editing on the clients computer, I also don't need remote access at all since it's only a zip file that needs to be extracted and it works.
