Server not appearing in master server list
#16
Just to update you all on the situation, what brown suggested did work. Reading another post (here) I found that I needed to reset the state table (i.e close all connections and force them to reopen). I didn't do this at first, but now its working and i've had someone confirm its on the master server list.

So, in summary. If you run pfSense or m0n0wall (from which pfSense was forked) you need to enable advanced outbound NAT and set up a new rule above the default one so that in the end it looks like this:

Thanks to everyone that helped, and thezfunk from the other thread of pointing out that the state table needed to be reset.

This topic is old, but ill explain it anyways. As i know, pfSense is a standalone OS, not a application.

pfSense is something that shouldn't be toyed with unless you know what you're doing. After reading for a bit, it's clear that many people around here don't understand networking. Suffice to say that keeping a server behind a firewall and only allowing certain ports to be opened is best practice! As an update to what was said here, I'm currently running pfSense v 2.0 RC3 and I can confirm that the above steps are working. Remember that you must also forward the ports for inbound traffic as well!
