Another one i like, similar to iftop, is 'iptraf'.

iptraf looks nice. I'll install it and see how it goes.

Any ideas about operating systems - which one will give me the best performance?
EDIT: I'm going to stick with Debian Stable Smile

Gentoo will give you the best performance for a Game Server, but I use Ubuntu instead of Debian. I would use Slackware but i am not that Hardcore or FreeBSD - I have tried and they run great but updating/building takes to much time.

So gentoo is actually the best, ubuntu is preferred over debian but you actually want to use slackware.

Why are you using ubuntu which is better than debian if you actually want to use slackware but in the end gentoo is better?
