Ok, I am currently running a Garry's Mod server on my 384kbps upload. I generally run about 6 players and most players average 100 or 150 ping, so I think I'm doing fine there...however, I will be getting my connection upgraded tomorrow...then I'll have 512 up to 768kbps upload.
How many players will I be able to host then? What about with some extra tweaks?
Also, I was hoping someone could tell me the bandwidth requirements per person on a voice server such as Ventrillo.
Edit: I just ran a bandwidth monitoring program, and I came to the conclusion that each player uses about 8KB/s (64kbps), so I would theoretically be able to run a 8 slot server. But, I could probably squeeze about 12 slots out of my new connection (assuming it runs at the minimum guaranteed speed). Is this correct? And, I would still like to know about voice servers.
