funny in that you don't understand how hard it is to get into the business, you're just throwing stuff together and hoping for the best . . . thats a guaranteed way to fail.

He has a point even if you are just doing it for the fun of it you should have a plan and not just chuck stuff together and hope for the best.
So what if he has less posts than you that dosnt have anything to do with how much you know

Haha i would of thought it would have been easy for people in us, you don't need to worry about making sure you dont use all your bandwidth, but still trying to sell enough servers to make $$$. (im australian if you don't no).

If i was going to start a US GSP, i would Buy my own hardware (http://www.newegg.com) <- wish we had some of that Sad

then i would find a host who i can get unmeatred bandwidth plan from someone like http://directspace.net/colocation.htm (dunno if there good or not, just saw they can sell dedicated bandwidth @ $10 per mbit).

I would buy 10mbit's for $100 + $50 for rack space.

Charge 99c per slot, then put a max of 300 slots on it.
(overselling a bit, but very unlikely you will ever max out the connection).

There you go, $150 profit per box, now you can go buy 150 taco's from tacobill (they where a $1 when i went over there 11 years ago Toungue).

i think thats great, but losing money isn't fun. all i'm saying is you really need to prepare more.
#38
I did. Well kinda.
I know losing money isnt fun and all but what have i got to lose.
I'm still young and Smart and still got a long way to being old Toungue
So yea, and sorry about the flaming :o or was that you idk.
PS. If anyone knows how to restricts the server-side to like 250 but your box is capable of doing 500 so that customers can't change it thru the the fps_max command, If anyone knows how please pm me. Thanks. I have tcadmin btw so if anyone knows how please tell me) Big Grin

honestly, the average person who buys a server doesnt realize that you can change the fps in a config
#41
and as far as I know, you can't block it Smile

You can even type it in the console/rcon whatever...

best way i know of is to have script verify (and modify) the values every so often in the appropriate config file(s).
#43
Do you have the script?
Cs.com restricts the fps thru tcadmin somehow , Tried everycommand still is at 250 with cs.com Toungue
