Hey All,
I apologize to all who needed some work done and I was unavailable, not that anyone cares I'm sure, but I was very busy with a new project at work that butchered my time. I will be offering my services again, so be sure to email me with what you're looking for. Those who sent me an email prior to this and have been waiting, I'll give you all a discount, thanks!

helixo Wrote:hey vigor can you give me some basic flags that could help with optimizing a kernel A good safe/basic starting point would be -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer Also -J# for number of processor cores + 1 so a Quad Core you would use -J5 some argue using the static amount. Also it's important to tell the compiler(s) your system architecture type as well through flags, so that you enable any specific optimizations for your platform. This would cover the basic level, you can dive a bunch deeper into the kernel configs/make files prior to building that take it to a whole other level. |
