Hey (im new ).
I have an old Server from work sitting in my house and I thought I'd try to make a small dedicated for my friends and I running Counter-Strike Source.
Windows Server 2003 Enterprise R2 SP2 x86
AMD Athlon 64 @ 2.0GHz
1GB DDR2-800
160GB WD 7200RPM / 2x80GB partitions
Static IP / port 27015 udp open
I tried installing using HldsUpdateTool, but I got the following:
EDIT: I tried creating the directory c:\srcds\css\, but it said cannot create directory as one already exists.
EDIT2: deleting the .blob file didnt help either.
So, I then tried the GUI Steam-based dedicated server. I installed both the Source and TF2 servers. The TF2 server launches and plays without a hitch, I can join it and everything. But the Source version (the one I really want), gives me this:
So, is this a problem with Server 2003 (i.e. data execution prevention?) or a network issue? Any fixes? There are no Windows errors that come along with it.
I am running LogMeIn and the Wise-FTP backup utility.
Oh, I also heard of a program that can install the server and admin plug ins at the same time, but I can put the name to it - does something like this exist?
