yea, i guess.... Actually another friend i have said i can handle 40 players at 7500 sv_maxrate, and if its below 20000 you said it would decrease performance of the server, now what u mean by performance like ingame or just server like opening folder's performance?

Performance such as high chockes and possible delay some stuff and it will not feel smooth to play on the server.

well alright, i guess upload speed isnt that much after all Sad
the only thing that is really confusing is half my friends are saying it will work fine with my upload speed on 20000 sv_maxrate and half of my other friends no i cant hold 40 slots with 20000 sv_maxrate?
so confusing....

well, alright i guess.
I dont even know if comcast does affect upload speed or not, is there a way to test my upload besides testing with 40 players in the server?

Also i want to know, what should my server specs be,
if i have 1 gb of ram and intel core 2 duo E4500 @ 2.20 ghz
What should i upgrade for higher performance like 1000+ fps for some clients?

alright, so i am guessing with 3.60 mbps connection i cannot hold 40 players with good rates?

well i just tested!
But it was with bots!
I disabled zombie reloaded to test bots!
When i put 40 bots in looks like 150 mb of ram usage(from map maybe 10 mb from bots) and cpu usage was around 20% at 20 bots and around 47-50% usage on 40 bots)
THen enabled zombie reloaded, putted the bots and and i put 40 bots in a 48-51% not a big difference but it crashed when alot of crap happened but it was only 50% when it crashed... SO i am guessing its a game problem right?

Anyway i didn't test my upload yet due to i can't get 40 players on my server!
So does anyone know an estimate of how much players i can hold at 3.60-4.60-6.60 mbps upload? And wat my rates should be for a nice performance?

ok, i am sure my upload is around 6.60 mbps
Because i got a bandwidth monitor and uploaded a youtube video(it was 230 mbs) and i checked the upload speed, it seemed to be all around though, it was at 3.50 mbps then goes up to 4.50 mbps then to 5 mbps then to 6.60 or even 7 mbps and it was the best bandwidth monitor... It was mostly in the 6.00+ mbps zone Smile and did it the whole time too Smile

Anyone think that 6.60 mbps is my real speed?

Anyone know why i glitch in vehicles so much? Like its not the map the server has some kind of cvar or something wrong with it that makes it if i drive or do something i glitch through the vehicles/props....

well i just had 18 players on the server... 25000 didn't do it Sad
so i minium it down to sv_maxrate 12500 and it worked good with barely any lag Big Grin
