I have used this with the xen clocksource (was not running on a vm just using xen install) there was really no difference between any other source.
*Windows lack of output*
You: Hey, I want to run this program! Windows: Ok.. It crashed... Now what? Give up? You:...wtf... *linux output helpful?* You: ./My_program Linux:...Failed!...oo kitties! You:...wtf...

I ran your boosted library at 2000fps on a stock 100hz kernel for ubuntu 8.10 (2.6.27-11) no RT no chrt'ing just stock with the module and idler thats it.
Server was considerably stable with source tv and 10 bots on a 12 slot server. Its nice to know this module will allow you to run a server "similar" to highquality ones without having to use 100hz and the overhead that comes with it. the surprising bit was no drops or dips with the source tv bot it was as stable as any server not running source TV. fps was only around 1957 though which of course is still awesome. On my box 2.8ghz q9550 the cpu usage was around 14-23% with all bots...Next is to try hlds with srcds and see if they run side by side without drops or dips.

btw: hlds will never show any fps larger than 1000.0, even if you are running slightly higher. so if you reduce the sleep time a little below 1ms (with some ld-preload lib), you will get "constant" 1000.0fps, but that is some kind of fake. you only hide the variations of the fps. if you want to see how stable the fps are, you should lower the fps to ~950 fps by making the sleeps longer...

Increasing and decreasing sleep in hlds is bad, as it will actually affect the speed "in game". I did not modify how long the system sleeps, I just modified the way the system calls sleep. Although, it is hard to get a true reading since I can't test with bots or real people.
