Support for 'grid'
#1
My hoster is doing a promotional period where they host your site on a grid of servers instead of just a single server for 5 dollars a month. Basically your files are ran by multiple servers instead of just one. SRCDS/HLDS support a grid style hosting? Supposedly you can do everything a standard server can do (minus a few), you have shell, wget, and fun commands like that. Only problem I can see is you cannot have a dedicated IP but I can turn around and use my domain name to connect people to the 'grid'.

I e-mailed asking them, however they said it was 'recommended' to stay on my Virtual Server, they afraid I might suck up all the power?

BTW: I would do the linux grid, cause I prefer linux Smile

Those grids are normally set up for webhosting, a gameserver needs an IP, it will only run on 1 computer within that grid.
So it doesn't make sense it being in a grid then Toungue

Could it be down with a domain name though? It be interesting if this could work out.

Well it is posibal to do but it would be hard because all the packets would have to goto a firewall then the firewall routes the packets to a server that is alive.

Worth the try? 5 bucks a month, only reason it caught my interest.
