New server build, help!
#1
I am in the process of building another server to have colocated but have fallen short of affording a Q6600, I have setled with the E8200 and 4GB of RAM.

How many slots could I expect from the E8200?

Could anyone recommend a server motherboard or reliable desktop board for a 1U server that supports the Q6600 with onboard video? Smile

something to keep in mind is the height of components on desktop boards. i have seen some with tall enough heatsinks that they won't fit into a 1u.

I already have a heatsink / cooler that I will use, if anyone could vouch for a desktop board / server board then it would be great!
