Hmm interesting.
Altough the Mainboards and RAM are still expensive (compared to a normal server with q9550) these tests make me believe that it's quite worth it's money
Big thx

Wow, with actual players I think this is going past the 80x 100tick per core.....

number of slots per cpu strongly depends on many factors, so in reality nobody will be able to give you a precise answer. also the orangebox engine requires more cpu power than the old one (I assume you are talking about one of CSS, DODS, TF2)...
the only viable way of getting an answer is trying it out. if you do it, do not use bots (they will give you a very different result). I do not expect 4x80 slots on that cpu to be possible, at least not with a high quality.
the better question would be the other way round: tell us what you plan to do, and we might give you a hint what hardware you will need.
and btw: next time please open your own thread, this one is rather old. it's good that you use the search function, but each new problem should get its own thread. thanks.

1 game server per thread will prevent them from lagging each other some what.
Leave thread 0 open for the OS. So 7 game servers, whatever size you want.
Looking for a game server? Visit
fullfrag.com and pick one up as low as $2.50 / mo!
