How many slots can I have? CSS
#1
I am new to the whole SRCD servers since I have always bought my servers from other hosts such as AoWC and GameServers.

Instead of asking how many slots I can host with my computer, is there a chart that can tell me what I can host? I have looked everywhere and can not find one at all or any information on the subject =[.

If there Isn't a chart here are my computer specs and line speed connection.

-AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4600+ 2.41 GHz
-2GB Ram
-32-bit OS Vista
-Video card:NVIDEA GeForce 7600 gS (dont know if this part matters with a server)

-Comcast Cabel connection
Download Speed: 6154 kbps (769.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1045 kbps (130.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

PS: Thanks for the SRCDs I love it, very easy to host a server with it =], just wish I wasnt so stupid.

Your upload speed is the bottle neck.
I'm not good on figuring out slots though... Sorry!

Meh.. How do I figure out what I can host? I would kind of like to learn this because I have a friend that has twice my line speed and he also doesnt know how many slots and tick rate he can host.

A good general Guide for it.

imo 18 players is a good size for your network connection.

Less than 10 100 tickrate slots, with any other network usage causing lag.

33tick: 14 players
66tick: 8 players
100tick: 6 players

Flee, that guide is deprecated, bandwidth usage is completely different than a few years ago Smile
Also all those numbers are theoretical and really they do not resemble the real values
