Dell PC - Please Help- Are the specs any good

I'm a novice so I don't know what half this stuff means

Its the Dell Vostro Pentium Dual Core Processor 2.00Ghz 800Mhz and 1mb cache.
the memory is 2048MB and 667Mhz DDR2 Dual Channel
hard drive 250GB Serial ATA Non Raid (7200RPM)

There is also no modem Sad...Thats for about £400

well a pentium dual core isn't that good, you want a core 2 duo these days, and the ram isn't that good, DDR2 800 is what you want

It is just for personal use though, or do I really need something better

just basic home use, not downloading a lot, use office, surf the internet daily for about 3-6 hours max

500 for that is alot, check newegg.com for pre-assembled pcs. best prices on the internet

Laptop could be more espensive. If you want an awesome and cheap laptop, check out the acer inspire and other competing products. A nice website for parts is also pricewatch.com
