Few questions on cvars. I'm running ubuntu server. I have left4dead running.

I type cvarlist and it scrolls all ~1700 of them. How can I capture that list? cvarlist > /home/somefile doesn't work, doesn't recognize > it seems.

If I want to change a value in the cvarlist, how would this be done? I know i need sc_cheat enabled for some of them, but would I just type the name and value and it would be permanently stored? i.e. if i type:
Code:
z_witch_health 2000

would the witches health be forever 2000, even after server reboots? if not where do I write these values to so they get loaded when the server starts?

cvarlist log cvarlist.txt

will make a cvarlist.txt in your game directory. then you know you have the latest thing. Each patch they put out in the demo had more cvars in it, so its good to know how to help yourself.

Yes, this can come in handy and makes sure you can get the latest list of cvars any time you like.

Good luck sorting them though Smile Cool

Stickied.

Can someone make the cvar list public so you don't need to be registered on the site to open the txt files?
