Server 2003 or 2008 or XP

Well most of you here know that I'm starting up a GSP and it will be up shortly. We have XP Pro running now with no problemws, but were getting another box (specs below) and I wated to know which preforms better or is there no big difference for srcds if its 03, 08 or XP Pro

Well I really have no idea what runs better, just recently I had access to a box with win2k8, and I must say there was something about it that I really liked.. not sure what it was but it felt/looked very stable and good to go for years to come expanding computer hardware.

But it has a nice price tag too

so maybe i'll stick with xp/03 cus 08 is realy expensive, where i could get a 03 key for $30USD

I would say server 2k3 because server 08 requires a lot more resources to run :-\

Thats why i use linux just so you dont need to worry about having these keys, they can get expensive

I use a stripped version of XP to run my locally hosted srcds server. Really, I only need some remote access to my server, so I remove other services/files I don't need. From there, I can add user accounts with permissions only to my srcds folder.

Maybe I'll just strip XP, and use 2k3 on my next server
