#1
Heya guys

So i setted up my server, im happy that i could run it for free cus first i paid 20€/month for it. NOw i wanted to register the server with Finalbattleground, but u need a static IP. So i googled my *ss of and came up with the Portforwarding thingy to get a static ip.
To bad when i do this, the server doesn't show up in the masterlist, when i do it with dynamic IP it does :/

Anyone has any prefers?
Btw, the game is: Counter strike source
my srcds start line is:
-game cstrike (dunno cus server is upstairs :p, lazyness ftw!) -tickrate 66 -players 20 -port 27015 -map glass_war

thats it, i rly need a static ip Sad

plz help this internet nub
grtz, flo

You have both an internal IP and and external IP. The one that needs to be static for that site is your external IP.

If you have a dynamic external IP, only your ISP can make it static, some ISP's don't allow it at all, some do it for free and some other do it for a small one time or monthly fee.
There's nothing you can do about this yourself, you can only call your ISP and see if there are any options.

i totaly agree and i still got the proof (DUTCH):
Wij hebben uw e-mail in goede orde ontvangen en danken u daarvoor. Helaas valt deze vraag buiten de ondersteuning die gegeven wordt op onze adsl-helpdesk. Persoonlijk zou ik u aanraden om een kijkje te nemen op http://www.no-ip.com/ . Er is ook de mogelijkheid om een vast ip-adres aan te vragen bij uw adsl-abonnement maar dat is een betalende optie(30€/maand)

Like I said before, ONLY your ISP can give you a static IP address, unlike they say in that e-mail.

no-ip.com simply serves a DynDNS which means that they assign a domain or subdomain to your computer regardless of the IP address so when people type this domain in their browser they always end up on your computer.
Quite a bit of sites offer these services for free. However for gameserver hosting it's quite useless since you can NOT add a domain name to your favorites, it saves only the IP.
