Display message

Is there a way I can display the "chalkboard" screen with the message, I.E the MOTD, whenever someone sends a message saying "motd"? Understand, though, that I want to do this with other text files as well; for example, when someone types in "asdf" the server displays the text file "asdf.txt". Thanks for any help you can give.

I know it's posible because HLstatsX does it... I'm not sure exactly how, sorry.

you can do that with mani admin plugin. check the mani configs for webshortcutlist.txt or something similar

tho i think it will have to be links rather than local txt files

Sourcemod has a webshorcuts plugin, not sure if it works with TF2.

Alright, I *kinda* found a way to do it in beetlesmod, though it doesn't work yet.
In my "advertisements.cfg" I have a line that says:
Code:
addsaytrigger "tips" "browse F:\HLServer\orangebox\tf\tips.txt" "1"
But, when I type in "tips" it gives me...
Code:
FCVAR_SERVER_CAN_EXECUTE prevented server running command: say
And "tips" does not show up in the chatbox, so I'm pretty sure it could work. Any ideas? Maybe I entered the code into the "advertisements.cfg" wrong; I'm not sure, I copied it from a website.

That command tries to execute a command on the clients game which has been disable by VALVe, so that on isn't going to work.

I found the sourcemod plugin, and it works with all the websites I try. However, anything on my hard drive doesn't work. I figured this would be a problem; I guess I could upload the text file somewhere and have it link to it. Either way, I suppose the problem's solved, though I cant find anywhere I can direct link. Thanks for your help.

People do not have access to your computer, just the server.

All content must be on a webserver somewhere.
