I would like to know who actually has a near solid server side FPS on windows. I've found that windows drops from 500 to 200 every now and again.
If you have solid fps, how do you get the solid fps? Have you changed anything within windows?

I had a super stable windows once. Never went below 505. But I think it's pure luck.

I'm with spartan on this one, I've installed servers that were rocksolid, though some others kept fluctuating while the configuration was identical.

Wow, thats pretty impressive.
I'm guessing that has to be Windows Server 2008?
However, I should be able to achieve a stable 500FPS on 2003 right?
(Btw, I'm talking about CS:S, not 1.6 if it makes any difference)

Yes, you should easily be able to get stable fps on 2003 hazz. What kind of hardware do you have ? How do you have your servers setup?

I'm renting the box out from Racksrv, here are the specs and bits....
C2Q Q9300 @ 2.5Ghz (speedstep disabled)
Gigabyte G31MF-S2
2x2GB Corsair PC2-5300
I have the servers setup using the Brainless panel, however I've used Firedaemom and Meanloader in the past and still have had unstable fps.
Thanks for the replies guys.

How many slots you have running on that box? I have yet to check the specs of the mobo but that could also be a problem. How do you have the servers set up? Starting on CPU 0 ? Any servers forced to a CPU ?

All servers are forced to a CPU.
The only used servers we have running atm is...
CSS
40 slots @ 33 tick -core0
24 slots @ 66 tick - core 1
11 slots @ 100 tick - core2
TF2
32 slots @ 33 tick - core3
