I went away for a week and when I got back, I found out that my server will not upload maps to players anymore. I don't think anything changed. I thought it might have been a problem with the permissions of the map files, but that's not it. I'm using the latest version of srcds on fedora 8 with beetlesmod. I also set net_maxfilesize to the max and that didn't help.

Maybe you should check with your game server provider about whether your sv_downloadurl site works at all. Also your better off posting in the linux forums since this is relating to a linux server.
What value did you put net_maxfilesize to?
I don't have a sv_downloadurl set, I am assuming that the clients download from the server by default, maybe I have to set that. net_maxfilesize is at 64, the max. I have a post in the linux forum that isn't getting anywhere. Also, I am providing my own server.

Try to rename the server.cfg to something else so it doesn't load, then start up the server with the normal commandline.
This will result in a blank config server, make sure it starts on one of your custom maps, then try to join and see if it loads the map. If it does download the map it's something in the config that's keeping it.

It's not the config file. I just tried that and I have the same problem.

I figured out what the problem was. I did set net_maxfilesize to 64, but it puts it back to the default when you load a new map. To fix it, you have to add net_maxfilesize 64 to the cfg files for each map that needs it.

Heh, glad you found out, I assumed you entered that in the config and didn't type it in the console.
