1000fps
#1
yes, i achieved 1000fps, but i have issues.the console fluctuates between 915-960 fps, also when i type stats in the console it only comes up to about 550. and drops to 200. the server is set to one core, and high priority.

thats pretty much why people only do 1000fps on linux

could it have to do with only bots on the server, or. . .

i highly doubt that your stability issues can be resolved in windows

+1 A linux setup would probably leave you at a more stable setup.

As a windows 2003 user with 6 different servers running (ranging from old and new xeons, opterons, phenoms and q6600's) I’m going to have to agree with Ryan. After trying so many different combo's in trying to achieve a stable FPS on windows, I have not been able to do so and given up.

It’s like you said dualcore, goes up and down. Setting it on 500 actually makes it worse so I have to drop it down to 300 to stabilise it. (but still drops to 120 every 5 secconds, no idea why)

I really want to switch to linux Sad but its too late for me now.

Ultramoo, if you are not able to obtain a stable 512 FPS on Windows then you are doing something very very wrong.

Yeah 2000fps would need linux for sure.
Have never yet been able to testout a real 2000fps server myself.
I looked at one a guy was trying to rent out and it was running windows, so I think it would be 512 maybe Toungue

You'd need Linux to reach FPS but I'm 99.99% sure there are nil servers that can keep a stable FPS above 1500 Smile
Hell 1000FPS is hard to get stable, go any higher... nah, you need a future CPU for that.

aarrg. how do you obtain stable 300 fps even :S mine just jumps from 300 to 120 and somtimes a even down to 65fps constantly.. with or without players.. but mostly when there are players in the server during peak time (about 50 players +)

I dont know why the FPS drops, but the CPU is fine and never overloads, ram fine, priority set to high, and even affinities set.
I even have them running in service mode to provide extra performance. Sad
