ip changing problem
#1
My server keeps changing the server ip from: 192.168.1.3:27015 to 192.168.1.2:27015. When its 192.168.1.3:27015 then people can join but when its 192.168.1.2:27015 then people cant join.

I have portforwarded 27015 to 27015 and server ip adress 192.168.1.3.
My startup line looks like this:
-tickrate 100

One more problem: My friends cant join by finding my server on friends. They have to type this in console while im in my server : connect < my external ip adress>...

Hope u can help me.

Read some guides on how to set up a static IP address for the server machine.

Also, the friends thing is not a problem, that's supposed to be like that because you joined a local game. This game however isn't local for your friends so there's where it can't work.

Give your server a static local IP.
Also, give it something high so it wont be given to another computer.

My personal computer's local IP is 192.168.0.42

lol.
I have an old netgear firewall. I got it way before I knew about networking. We got it because it has 8 ports. It's made for small businesses so it has some nice features. However I don't host a gameserver locally.

I also have several switches and a Wireless Access Point. In fact, I think I need another 2 switches...
