SRCDS Steam group


New help with tickrate and fps_max

I am having trouble figuring out where to put the tick rate settings and the Fps_max settings at. Can someone help plz.

for the ticket rate add -ticketrate 66 to the startup line and change 66 to what you want.
For the fpx_max just add -fps_max 0 to the startup line and change 0 to what you want.

umm startup line where?
and where in the startup line?

The commandline/ startupline is the thing you use to start up the dedicated server (for example: srcds.exe -console -game xxxx -maxplayers xx .....)
That's where you add -tickrate <numberhere> (not ticketrate like Goilio said, just tickrate, to avoid confusion)
You can also add the fps command there like this: +fps_max <numberhere> (not a -, a +)
the fps command can also be entered in teh server.cfg, just: fps_max <numberhere>

i am confused.... Everytiem i start my gmod server it is still at 64 FPS

this is my server command line

@echo off
cls
echo Protecting srcds from crashes...
echo If you want to close srcds and this script, close the srcds window and type Y depending on your language followed by Enter.
title srcds.com Watchdog
:srcds
echo (%time%) srcds started.
start /wait srcds.exe -console -game garrysmod +map gm_botmap +maxplayers 8 +fps_max 600 ticketrate 66
echo (%time%) WARNING: srcds closed or crashed, restarting.

okay. I see with WMP on it runs at 256 FPS but i want to run at 512 or higher.

try tu use in your server.cfg
fps_max >512

then it tries to hold it on 512 fps

On my server i use +fps_max 600 in starupline And in server.cfg i have fps_max "600" And my servers runs at 512 If you only use fps_max 500 servers run in 256 fps.. My do that.

well if you put > this in front of the number ex: fps_max >512 it keeps it at 512

> means "bigger than", you don't actually type it infront.....

Like Branti said, fps_max 600 or higher will give you 512 FPS
