you can join through friends if you are on the server inside your network.
get them to connect to your external ip

If you want to make a non-lan server you need to either forward ports or DMZ the server.
If you want a small, private game you can try to use Hamachi. Remember to set your Hamachi IP in your startup line if you go that route.

Note that you have to do quite some IP range aliasing on hamachi to make an hamachi server work!

Now i think i opened ports right its just one more question..

in the guide i used it says "Done its just to make ur router a message about using this on ur pc"

and theres one thing thats wrong when i press (as it says in the guide i used) " Assign the public IP address of a connection to a LAN device" and then it after i did what i had to there, there comes a pop-up window that say's that i need to renew the current private ip adress of this device. and then i press ok.

and then this error comes: "Failed to assign the public IP address. (failed to set spoofing pool unnumbered)" the guide i used is http://itpro.no/art/11538.html its on my language (norwegian) so i understanded it very well

plz help me

For the command line for the server, no you dont change anything for portforwarding.
