...2.8GHz, 2x1MB, 1GHz Bus
i think
1hlds x32 will take about or more than half core and 0.5-1gb ram in week
1srcds x26 (tick66) will take the same or little more
1hlds x10 will take about 1/10 core and 100-200mb ram

u could have nice 1srcds x26 1hlds x32 and several hlds x10. want more - get quad and more ram. (and i prefare intel).
qx6850(3.0ghz/1333)/4gb(ddr2-800)/100mbps/centos5.1
srcds-64slots/66tick/VAC/detox/SB/mm/sourcemod
2xhlds-32slots/VAC/hlguard/SB/meta/amxx

upload-from-server - 25kb/s max for hlds, and srcds - all demand on maxplayers. 25kb/s for 20 slots are good, but as i heard - 1mbit available from srcds engine. so, if u have choke in round start, strong fight - u should enlarge maxrate. 25kb/s= sv_maxrate 25000
50mbits are good for your config
download-to-server: less speed required, 10kb/slot hardcorded to hlds and i not sure about srcds, but the same almost. do not forget it.

also do not forget include electrical issure to your specs if u run server at home. Big Grin

Well 50mpbs connection to your home would take a custom fiber line install which is at least $20-30k less you live with a fiber line below your house or something. Smile
A T-1 line is only dedicated 1.5mpbs up and down.
If you have that high five. Big Grin
I only would dream about 50mbps from home.

outside of north america, uncapped 10mbit lines and greater is very common. for VERY fair prices. The cost of home broadband is extremely inflated in the US.

here in the Netherlands most of the internet connections are 20MBit (download) and upload is very low (2mbit)
only company's and people with fiber have faster upload
