Ive got 1tb bandwidth a month on my ded server? (australia) we use a good 200gig bandwidth a month so far.

I like the idea of this, its just, shouldn't server providers give their customers enough space for this anyway?

If you can work out a way to do this effeciently with multipule hosts (if you want) you can use 400 gig of my bandwidth a month. But im not going to do it alone.

I pay 50$ a year on Lunarpages for unlimited disk space and bandwidth.
I would say I could help you on this but Lunarpages has had problems with a few customers with large file uploads/ scripts.
EDIT: Reading deathamalation's post I guess I could throw in ~400gb of bandwidth a month as long as things are uploaded through FTP.

I think your idea is a great one and you don't have to be a "multimillion business man".

Thing with hosts like Lunarpages, Dreamhost, Hostgator, etc. they don't allow your account to be used for storing large/lots of files or to be used as a download service. Doing this kind of thing interferes with other clients website performance, because they share 1 server to like 800-2000 accounts :O

Start storing lots of stuff and use a fair bit of bandwidth, say bye bye to your account. Good luck getting a refund because you broke the terms.

A sv_downloadurl service would be great for our new server.

Me and a few colleagues are hosting a 24 player public TF2 custom/classic/stock maps server. We have a few unique features, and some more that we plan to implement down the road. But first, we need to populate our server
One of the biggest problems we face are the slow downloads...could one of you lend a hand? Right now, we have less than a GB of content, but frankly I think we will need quite a bit of bandwidth.

Please let me know if you can offer this; it would be greatly appreciated.
