server issues ?

Shyi have no know-how of how to run a server, but i started 1 and have got the downloads down and installs correct as far as i can tell and having problems starting it (server). problems as follows:

Particles: missing 'particles/error.pcf



exec: couldn't exec skill1.cfg
exec: couldn't exec server.cfg
exec: couldn't exec ctf_2fort.cfg

i really dont understand how to change the variables and set the quake sounds, player count, map rotation,lower tic rate?,make good latency?, general stuff, ect..
any way sum1 cud help wud b greatly helpful and appericated. i am vry eager to learn this and am vry new to all this.. PLS help a nOoBSad

hi there..im not going to get into all of the things you are having trouble with but i will point you in the right direction for your answers...here is just one of very very very many places to get these kinda answers.

No you didn't search good enough:

1. missing particles is a common error, it always does it, can't be fixed but then again it doesn't do anything bad either except spam the console at startup

2. skill1.cfg can be ignored
3. server.cfg has to be in SRCDS\<modfilder>\cfg
4. Only needed if you want a map specific configuration

These and all your questions have been asked numerous times, I suggest looking in the tutorials section on this forum to get an idea about how to work this all, for the rest, just use the search function an google.
