I somehow doubt both those statements.

its true.

hey i put some custom sounds on my server but they take like 2 minutes to download even though they are only 2mbs.. and i think people aren't joining my server because they don't want to wait.

first of all, what kind of compression can i compress the wavs and they can still play in TF2? I know for source games, wavs have to be a certain compression, bitrate, etc. But I want to get them down in size as much as I can.

Also, how could I make it for my server downloads wavs to my players from a webserver I have which should be faster

If you want it in the internet tab either remove your custom tags OR find a mod to clear the tags. It's built into BM and there is a plugin for sourcemod.
I have the same, common, custom tags issue. I searched through http://www.sourcemod.net/plugins.php and did not see a corresponding plugin to the problem. What exact plugin do I need?

Is this it: http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?p=592683

Yes that's the plugin.

I have done a similar thing where I am running my server on my comcast connection, and trying to connect to it via my SprintPCS data plan on my phone. It works just fine connecting directly with the IP address via the console. Is there another way to get your server to show up on the master list? I cannot find a cvar that does this, and I do not understand what you mean by the custom tags, as there is no "custom" tab in tf2 from what I've seen. I ran it the same way as I am doing now on wine/ubuntu8.10, on my xp x64 box, and had other people join throughout the course of a day. Any ideas on this?

my server is like that too (but its on lan all the time what lan command is for every one to join??
#23
put +sv_lan 0 in your start up line

Could someone even tell me what college offers a degree for "game server management?" LOL. Yeah... and I'm an ASA certified mechanic, but I forgot how to change my oil after 9 years of experience. -- I sometimes feel like I'm watching a comedy that's so stupid it's funny. Why would someone ask for help and then brag/exaggerate how much they know on the subject?

There is NO custom tab anymore (AFAIK) because of the issues it caused (no one would join custom servers).

If the server is on your LAN, YOU will only see it on your LAN. Other should be able to see it on the internet list as long as port are forwarded correctly.

LOL, region 255 is standard and wont show up in COUNTRIES server list, but will be in the list if u dont set a country.
Change region to whereever you are (eg... australia is region 5) then it will show up in ur list

sv_region 255 // Region Codes: 0 - US East coast, 1 - US West coast, 2 - South America, 2 - South America, 3 - Europe, 4 - Asia, 5 - Australia, 6 - Middle East, 7 - Africa, 255 - world
