Tick Rate & FPS Question

Alright guys, I am really trying to figure out how to best optimize my specific server and hopefully someone here can help me.

What would you recommend for Tick rate and FPS? I want the highest performance possible out of this server. Also let me know if there are other settings and variable to extend the performance of my server.

Server specs:

- OS: Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon
- Supermicro Dual Xeon 2.0GHz w/HT (2 Physical Processors, each with Hyper - not 1 dual core processor)
- 2GB 667MHz EEC Ram
- (4) 15,000RPM SAS HDD


Network specs:

- 58,021Kb/s -73,728Kb/s Down
- 950Kb/s -1015Kb/s Up
- Ping 43m


This is the command I use in terminal to start srcds: ./srcds_run -console -game hl2mp +map moosebox3 -maxplayers 12 +rcon_password ******** -autoupdate -pidfile srcds.pid

Thanks a ton guys, I did a lot of searching in this forum and on google and I really wasn't able to find a good answer to my specific needs.

Best tickrate for internet: 66 tick
Best FPS is ~500-600

Personally, for public servers I find 75 tick very good, compliment it with 500FPS and you will have yourself a fine server

hm
if I do that with minrate 8000 and minupdaterate and mincmdrate 66
а will have loss and chokes
i think rate need to be about 15k-20k (20-30 is for 100tik i think)

Nothing wrong with those rates other than that I'd lower sv_minupdaterate to 30 or so.
