100 Tick not stable
#1
I have setup a scrim CSS server on a dual processor Opteron 250 2.4ghz server. It has 2GB of DDR ram and a 74GB 10K SCSI drive. (Running on Server 2003 Enterprise R2 SP2.) I setup the server to run on 1 processor only and set the priority to high. I am using this command to start the server:

srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 +maxplayers 12 +ip 67.xx.xx.115 -tickrate 100 +fps_max 600

But when in a scrim with 10 players on dust2 I see the tickrate dropping in my netgraph to the 80s and sometimes even lower. This is the only process running on the machine besides essential windows services and srcdfpsboost.exe. Is my processor not fast enough to run at 100tick? Anyone have any hints on how to get it to run faster?

Thanks

post your server.cfg
and when you are on the server... how's the processor looking?
What % is used?

Im not sure what the cpu usage was on it. I need to get 10 people in it again to check.

Put bots in it, if it holds it will hold players for sure Smile (unless it's a connection problem)

Alright I got 9 bots plus myself in server and cpu usage according to Taskmgr is 30-40% on 1 processor. Rcon stats shows about 40% cpu usage and steady 512 FPS, but my tickrate still fluctuates between 80-100. Anything I can do to keep it closer to 100?
