Acceptable/minimum FPS for a Standalone DS
#1
Hello,

Now that everything seems to be working for our TF2 test server, I would like to know acceptable/minimum FPS required for an optimal gameplay.

Thanks once more.

I don't ping boost because it maxes my CPU out.
But in general, about 512FPS is good. I've been told that "proz" demand a FPS of 1,000... but that's bullshit Toungue

As long as you keep the FPS higher than the tickrate there will be no lag, then the higher you go (up to around~600 FPS) it gets "smoother" in game.

Thanks to both of you.

So I may be in trouble, because I can't get anything higher than 400 FPS. Test Server: WS2003 - AMD 2.0Ghz - 2 Gb.

I read something about a FPS boost method just executing Windows Media Player. Is this true?

Thanks once more.

Yes, but it's not recommended.
I used WMP and it gave me hell.

Use the srcdsfpsboost, I have posted it multiple times here.

run it and set fps_max 700 and you'll get 512 FPS
