CS:S Rates Questions
#1
Hey! Smile

My server runs with the following settings @ 100tick (18 man) Windows 2003 Server

sv_maxrate 25000
sv_minrate 2500

sv_minupdaterate 101
sv_maxupdaterate 101

When the server fills up it starts to lag.

The rates that regular players in the server have been using are...

rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101

Can anyone please give me some idea if these rates are good and what ideal settings for a 100tick is good?

I have looked at various posts around the net but they leave me some what confused :|

One of the main things we would need to know is what type of connection are you trying to run it on?
Also the specs of the computer running this server. Smile
I know 18 man on a home connection will lag after around 8-10 people at most times.

Also, what type of lag is it? Are you sure its because of bandwidth?
