If all else fails, come back! BTW, It should be No One can Ping My Computer!

Also, while i was thinking of it--is your firewall blocking those ports?
my firewall is not blocking any ports, i thing something wrong with ipv6 because it says "ipv4 -internet" "ipv6 -restricted".
the ip was 192.168.1 when ppl connected my server.. it has changed to 10.0.0.3 and i cannot check my router settings anymore...................

Go to the control panel => network connections
then set up a static IP for the network card in the 192.168.1 range

I think that he meant go to your network properties in the control panel and click on the ipv4 to the network card or integrated NIC. Then set up a static i.p. address in the range of your router. Then go into your router and click on DHCP reservations and add your MAC address to the list with the i.p. address you just set in IPV4 settings...
E.x. for me my router's default is "192.168.1.1" so then i would set my i.p. as: 192.168.1.103 You wanted to know: Static I.P this in my case would be 192.168.1.103 The subnet mask is usually (almost always) 255.255.255.0 then the gateway is your routers I.P: 192.168.1.1 Hope that this clears things up... P.S. MAKE SURE THAT THE I.P. ADDRESS DOESN'T CONFLICT WITH ANY OTHER CLIENT TO YOUR ROUTER or you'll have some funky results!!!

moraa Wrote:if i set up static ip i will not access to internet and i need to reset modem to defaults..... You need to make sure you are getting the right Static IP, and it is not using any other IP on your network. Say you have 2 computers one is on static the other is dynamic. If your dynamic ip get picked as your static ip the two computers are conflicting, then neither computer can access the internet. ONce you get a static set up, you can use this. Next, if you still have the problem you may have a dynamic external ip address, which is standard. But to get a good not-changing ip address for your server, you must have a static external ip address. To get one of these you must call your isp and buy one at whatever extra they charge. I can however post some instructions for a static (internal) ip address. 1. open up the start menu select run and type cmd into the window, Press okay. 2. the command prompt is open, type in "ipconfig /all" without quotes. 3a. a bunch of crap should appear, sift through and find your IP address, Default Gateways, subnet mask, and BOTH DNS Servers, write them down now. 3b. If you see that your DNS Servers are something like "mydns.crapitsnothere.com" or something other than a 168.101.1.1 type of thing, you need to talk to your ISP and ask then for your DNS Servers, they will give them to you, if they ask why say you're setting up a static ip (DO NOT BUY AN STATIC EXTERNAL IP if they ask you, you want a STATIC INTERNAL IP) 4. go to Control Panel (if you have the choice be in CLASSIC VIEW) > Find "Network and Sharing Center", click on "Manage Network Connections" 5. Find the internet connection YOU use to connect to the internet. 6.Open it and select properties at the bottom of the screen (Administrative powers needed). 7. Under the "General" tab find "Internet Protocal (TCP/IP) 8. Click on it highlighting it, Now select Properties. 9. Everything should say "Obtain automatically" 10. Choose Use this IP address and type in your static ip address. 11. Go to the bottom of this page Static Finder! 12. input what you wrote down click find static ip address and write them all down, just in case you need another. 13. Enter the subnet mask, and the default gateway. 14. Choose "Use the following DNS Servers" and input the primary and secondary, usually the secondary is one number higher than the primary. 15. Click okay, and you can close everything, wait a few minutes and it should work (you will be logged out of steam, MSN, Yahoo Messenger, and things that use internet). Have fun!
