Hi all,
I could use a little help here. I have a CSS server running, the ip is 68.62.108.31 and the hostname is jrcomputers.h1x.com
The server will not list in the Steam server list. If I try to add it to favorites, nothing happens. If I type in the ip at the favorites menu and press "find games at this ip", it will show my server and I can connect to it. So can my friends outside my network. But I just can't get the server to show up in the master list.
I have all ports forwarded correctly, my range is 27005 through 27039
I also have the internal ip set to the DMZ host for now.
When I launch srcds, I do not have a +ip option set. If I do, I get an error message. Near the top, srcds says
Network: IP 192.168.1.108, mode MP, dedicated yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL
that is my internal IP. At the end, it says:
Adding master server 72.165.61.189:27011
Adding master server 68.142.72.250:27011
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
I have srcds set as an exception in the WinXP SP2 firewall. I have no other firewalls installed.
Why won't my server show up in the list? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!!!

Wait a bit, sometimes it takes a while. Also wait a while and check on game-monitor.com to see if it up. Also if you are behind a router, dont use +ip or -ip, it just causes problems.

How long should this take? It's been up for almost 12 hours. I can now add my own server to my favorites, and it shows up in my history, but I still can't find it in the steam list. Gamemonitor.com does see my sever.

Well 12 hours is way too long. Should only take at max 30 minutes. Did you DMZ your server?

Sure did. It seems like everything is working fine, except it just doesn't show up in the steam list. You can connect to it manually...
I'm at a loss.
Is this something on Steam's end? Should I contact their support?

Probably something to do with this dumb steam update lol. You could try I guess but if you do could you post the solution here? This is realy frustrating and annoying. I really wanna figure out why.

Is this something other people are having problems with? I'm emailing steam now.

Steam hasn't gotten back to me yet, but there is a new problem.
Only occasionally, someone who joins my server (they have to do it manually) will get a "invalid steam userid ticket" and have to retry.
I think that my server is not fully communicating with the steam servers...any advice at this point? I'm out of ideas to try.

There must be something blocking it, how is your network setup?

Comcast cable modem going to a linksys router, all pc's behind the router using dhcp. css server has dedicated internal ip set to 192.168.1.108. dmz is enabled to this ip, and ports ranging from 27005 through 27039 on UDP and TCP are forwarded to this ip. The server has winxp sp2, with built in firewall turned off. XP is up to date. I have no 3rd party firewalls installed (I want to get it working first). Does steam need IPX? I only have TCP/IP installed right now.
This is how I start scrds:
C:\scrds\scrds.exe -console -game cstrike +map gg_2fort_compound -maxplayers 24 -autoupdate
When I start the server, the console says:
Network: IP 192.168.1.108, which obiously is the internal ip. Does this matter?
My server is running es_tools, mattie's eventscripts, Mani's admin plugin, and gungame mods...if it matters.
Thanks for helping, I appreciate it.

That linksys router is the problem, try getting latest firmware to see if it starts working, if it doesn't either get a new more professional router (Preferably no router at all but a switch!) or get rid of it totally

Isn't the router my gateway to the internet? Can I just plug a switch into the cable modem and use static ip's on the pc's and everything will work?
If this is possible, can I then plug the router into the switch to keep the wireless?

Ha!!
Updating the firmware did it. It's listed in the master server list, and it seems that everything works fine now. Thank you so much!!
My old firware was dated early 2005 :/
Now that is taken care of, I do have one more question. For some reason alltalk is alway disabled. I have sv_alltalk 1 set in my server.cfg, but have to manually enable it every time a map changes in the console. I'm asuming that mani is overriding this somewhere, but I can't find it. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Everything was fine before i have reinstalled windows, and now my server is not listed.
Server is ON but i can't finde it in game-monitor.com
At the end, it says:
No masters loaded
Using defoult master
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
Who can help me?
Server IP is: 78.59.58.143:27015 or ydm2.sytes.net
