HELP ME!!! I'm having porblems getting my server on the internet.

I'm having a major problem... I think its something to do with my portforwarding... whenever i start the server in UDP port 27015 when it starts up it changes to 27016 and also all the tutorials i have been on have been for the default port 27015 but i think mine is 27005... Please Help!

(I'm kinda dumb when it comes to this sorta stuff so if you can help me bare with me if i dont understand you at first)

I use the GUI so it does that auto ;l

Try using the console then. It is the best way to go.

k i use the console and people can join my server but they cant join it through friends :S why is that?

Did you forward all the ports or just 27015?

If you have a firewall, dmz the server's internal IP address.

They can't join through friends because you are connected locally.
You have to give them the ip at http://www.whatismyip.com

the thing is that people can join through the internet search but just not friends or favorites :S is there something else i have to do?
