Having problems updating/download files.
When I run ./steam
I get the following.
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Use:
Create a Steam Account:
-create <usrname> <password> <question> <answer>
Install or updated HLDS:
-update <game> <installdir> <username> [<password> [Y]] Y => remember password
View installed versions:
-version
Now I have an account with steam, so I tried the second option
as follows:
[~}# ./steam -update dod . username [password[Y]]
I get as follows
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
Connection Closed by Peer.
Returned to prompt.
Now, the instructions say to go to
1) Edit ~/hlds/gamename/server.cfg (replace gamename with whatever you used before)
***This is where your server variables are stored. Reference the http://server.counter-strike.net config editor for easy coverage of the common ones.
But there are no gamename directories let along server.cfg files.
Anyone?
