Server was working...help please!
#1
I have a linksys rt41-bu, all port forwards are correct, the server was working fine with gui version of srcds...was loading the server using my external ip...70.168.129.7 and people on the internet could connect without issue. Now ( I guess after the latest orange box update) when i start the srcds it will only start under my internal ip...192.168.15.103, and noone can see the server on the internet list, and when i try to get someone to connect on the external ip it tells them the server in not responding. I have tried the DMZ, doesnt work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

did you set the external IP to the startup command?
do you have sv_lan set to 0 in your server.config?

Linksys usually dont work with SRCDS. I recommend getting a new router.

did try the external ip to startup line, gave me some error. I have read that linksys doestn work well witht srcds, but mine always worked in the past...though I think a new router right now is the only solution. Any suggestions on a good inexpensive router that works well with the srcds.

Actiontec MI424WR works fine with me. I got it from FIOS and its nice. Avoid DLink routers, SRCDS doesnt work well with them.

On the linksys router, try getting a "flashed" or "cracked" or whatever they call it firmware, it has helped many many people in running much more than just the SRCDS.
