Slow map loading on TF2 Server
#1
Question
Right, this is getting annoying now, my server has been loading some maps veeeery slowly due to errors like this one

Code:
cmaterial::precachevars: error loading vmt file for maps/cp_gravelpit/nature/blendbackgroundtograve1004_wvt_patch

I've reinstalled the server a few times, I've tried downloading on other machines and I've tried replacing most of the server map/texture etc files with ones from my GCFs.

However, the issue still remains, but it varies on each map, some will load instantly, others will take over a minute.

Also, anyone know why I'd be having trouble signing up to the hlds mailing list?

Thanks

Those errors shouldn't influence the map load time or anything else at all.

Also I have no knowledge of the hlds mailing.

seeming a lot better now after a reboot and a swift kick.

Okay, it's still handling like shit, those are the only errors i'm getting, so must be causing the slow loading.

well I think the only thing you can do is update with -verify_all and see if they are corrupted.

I've verified the content many, many times.

I think those are just normal errors due to bad programming.
I get those during every map change as well on my TF2 servers

Please do not PM me for server related help
