I am sick and tired of DOS
#1
I'd be happy if I could run my server using a non limited GUI. Inputting anything in DOS is terribly slow and my server will freeze if I scroll or go into edit mode. I'm so sick and tired of having to go into edit mode to select something I want to copy. Home and end does not work, delete does not work, holding down the left or right arrow button does not work and many other things does not work. I have to go into edit mode, which will freeze the server up if I want to select something. Pasting something with quotes will automatically enter the command.
There is also a limit on how much the window can show, so I can't scroll back and find something. And like I said, if I hold down the scroll button, the server will freeze until I release it again.

I'm hosting a garrysmod server so without the -console part in the shortcut, I can't really get any information from the server. Such as Lua errors and other things.

TL;DR
Debugging with DOS is a pain in the ass

what exactly are you doing that needs that type of constant input? also you can change the buffer for up to 999 lines of history.

No I mean, it's just hard working with. Copy pasting, editing the command you've pasted (like changing a value) and so on.

I've tried the buffer 999 thing, it's still the same thing.

what exactly are you changing so much that can't be done with either the server.cfg or another .cfg file? once it's running you don't really need to be at the console for anything.

I am changing prop limits, running lua scripts and much much more. If you ever played Garrysmod, you'll understand. In garrysmod, you'll need the console all the time.

That's a bit umm.. Too much just to type in a console command. Also, I won't be able to search for things in the console if I do. Well I will, but I'd still have a lot of problems left.

Why don't you just turn the log on, it writes to it realtime and you can copy read whatever you like with a .txt file

Thanks! sv_logflush 1 seems to do the trick.

However, I still miss the startup. I want to be able to see all errors (if there is any) when starting the server up. Are there any options for the gui version?

Also, Is there a way to add custom confugrations to the "Configure" list?
