Yah, but looping the verification of the same info 10+ times gets retarded and not worth it. Dont get me wrong i would just love the answer to my server issue so i could actually move on but im not holding my breath till the dust settles from this shit release.

I assume that you have all the files from the hldsupdatetool. I had to run hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir MYDIR about 9 times to get all the files, the files in the bin folder being the last.

I also assume that you chose a different folder to install this server in in comparison to your other servers.

IE. I have C:\Program Files\Valve and within there I have tf2 and css, for my two different servers.

Zenxeon Wrote:When i do the -verify_all and the connection times out it seems its looping back to the start and verifying the same files again.. Anyone confirm this or possibly give me some direction on how to do it properly.

\hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\tf -verify_all

I had the exact same problems that you did. Here is what I did:

1) I created a directory off the root. i.e C:\SRCDS
2) I then ran the update tool:
hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game tf -dir c:\srcds
note: I had to hit "up arrow" and rerun this commandline about 9 times to get all of the files, because the server that was sending the files would time out after about 5 minutes and give me a "Winsock Error".

3) Once I had all the files, there was a problem with the "adminserver.dll" it was showing as 0kb file. I deleted this file and then reran the hldsupdatetool.exe one more time. It then downloaded the correct adminserver.dll file

4) I then created a shortcut to run the server from:
C:\srcds\orangebox\srcds.exe -game tf +maxplayers 8 -autoupdate
note: I did not use the -console switch as it would not run but just hang, without it you will run in GUI mode

5) The first time it was run it seemed to hang for about 3 or 4 mins, I just let it go and then eventually everything loaded.
Now all runs beautifully!!

Here is my shortcut for running in console mode. It runs like a champ:

C:\srcds\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf -tickrate 33 -ip 192.168.0.101 -port 27015 +maxplayers 8 +map cp_well -autoupdate

Yah, i replaced my hardeware and it worked the first time.. I wasted 8 days on this, trust me it was an MM instruction issue.
