my friend is running a server on his home comp. he has vista. we are have this problem where his computer freezes during css play and it cause the server to stop responding. it happens serveral times a day. his explaination of it is his screen freezes, sound loops and he cant use his mouse, it stays like taht for about 30 sec - 1 min. during this time everyone loses connection to his server. its extremely annoying and was wondering if any has heard of this before. o and it doesnt only happen when the server is up, any time he is playing css.

It's never a good idea to play and server the game from the same computer.

It is because his pc simply can't handle that much at one time. Running a server uses a lot of dedicated resources, and running the game tries to use the same resources, and if the system can't handle it all at the same time, it will cause that exact problem.

Well actually I don't think it has anything to do with both the game the server. When the whole PC stalls (screen and sound) it's a graphics card problem, check if it gets overheated or too much overclocked cause that's what happens to mine too if I clock it too high.

ya i was aiming towards a graphic card prob also cause i searched steam forums and found a few ppl with a similar prob on TF2 and they said it was related to certain types of nvidia cards which he has.
