maps causing TF2 to crash

I've rm -rf the orangebox folder twice now thinking it was a botched install...same thing happens... quake 1,2,3 and css work just fine so I'm not sure what the deal is.

also, humor me, try running without defining your tickrate.

I have the same problem and I did the verify_all command, I also have "-console", and no not have tickrate defined, so I meet all your requirements and still have the problem.

I have noticed one thing; many/all the reports I’ve seen with this same problem are running either a P3 system, or Anthon (XP) CPUs. I'm including reports on this board and on hlds_linux list.

This suggests that it may be related to CPUs that do not support SSE2, add to this valve using a new compiler for the orangebox games.....

I'm not a Linux user but I know for sure that after all this while here at these forums you NEED SSE2 SUPPORTED by your central processing unit (CPU) else it just WONT work.

On these same P3 servers I am able to run CS/CS:S servers with no problems .

PS - Since I noticed this, and posted on the steampowered.com, all the reporters confirm, Athlon XP and P3!

Update from Valve on this issue [hlds_linux]:

I was running TF2 just fine until the update came out, and now kaput.
