#1
Hi everybody Toungue
Can you help me to set the best configs for perfomance ^^ CPU and bandwidth?

I want at last 12 players support

My Server is a
Pentium 4 HT 3.0
1GB ram
HDD 7200rpm

Network ADSL
Down: 1024
Up: 512

mods GunGame and CTF, eventscripts, estools, maniadmin

My rates
srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -maxplayers 12 -tickrate 33

// Max bandwidth rate allowed on server (0= unlimited max= 20000)
sv_maxrate 4096

// Min bandwidth rate allowed on server (0= unlimited 4000= good for blocking 56k)
sv_minrate 0

// Minimum updates per second (Maximum= 100 increasing this will take more cpu power)
sv minupdaterate 10

// Maximum updates per second (Maximum= 100 increasing this will take more cpu power)
sv_maxupdaterate 33

// Enable player lag compensation (Enable= 1 Disable= 0)
sv_unlag 1
sv_maxunlag .5
// Amount of time in seconds a player can spray their decal
decalfrequency 60

I hope you can help me ^^

Thanks

Wit 512 upload maximum of 8 players, you might be able to pull 10 but the performance will decrease a lot.

Thanks by reply

there's any way to run 12 players, 1 in LAN, 11 by internet, in the same ISP same country, almost same city at 2km of distance xD??

because once I get 11 players but choke goes up an tickrate down :/ also happened when I put 11 bots and me, then choke goes up.

That happens because the maxrate is set too low, but if you set it higher bandwidth usage will go up, resulting in plain only ping lag due to maximum upload limit of your connection.

You can't change the way the connection works really, all you can do is upgrade it, you can't boost it or something, 512 is 512 no matter how you turn it.
